Maybe gold-diggers are onto something.  Well, onto a lot of orgasms at least.

A new study shows that women find sex more satisfying with wealthy partners, according to the Daily Mail.

The Chinese Health and Family Life Survey, conducted by two evolutionary biologists at Newcastle University, Thomas Pollet and Daniel Nettles, studied 5,000 people – a very large sample.  1,534 of them were women with husbands or boyfriends, according to the Daily Mail.

Turns out one of the biggest factors affecting whether or not these women had an orgasm: the income of their partners.

“We found that increasing partner income had a highly positive effect on women’s self-reported frequency of orgasms,” Pollet said in the Journal of Evolution and Human Behavior, according to the Daily Mail.

Furthermore, this held true even when other factors like age, education, length of relationship, health and happiness were taken into consideration, according to the Daily Mail.

Other studies from Germany and the United States have turned up similar findings, according to the Daily Mail.

This controversial take on the link between sex and money may make sense from an evolutionary perspective, according to many biologists.

Because women have to invest so much of their time and take such risk when carrying a child, they select someone who will be able to best provide for them.  And money certainly helps in that department!
